VEHICLE MOUNTED KERBSIDE ADVERTISING: AN INNOVATIVE WAY OF REVIEWING THE COMMUNITY IMPACTS

This report presents the results of a qualitative survey by NRMA Traffic Engineering of vehicle mounted advertising signs between April and July 1992. The report focuses on a number of significant traffic and safety issues using an innovative analysis chart. The report also identifies various issues based on NRMA policies, member concerns, a literature review and existing legislation. The analysis chart is applied to examine the roles of the various authorities involved. Similarly, a range of possible solutions are suggested. For the purposes of this report, a vehicle has been defined as either a car, utility, truck or trailer. (a)
