THIRD TECHNICAL PROGRESS REPORT OF THE SHIP STRUCTURE COMMITTEE

The Ship Structure Committee was formed in 1946 "for the purpose of prosecuting a research program to improve the hull structures of ships by an extension of knowledge pertaining to design, materials and methods of fabrication." This third technical progress report covers research work completed in the field of ship structures between 1 July 1950, the date of the second progress report, and 1 August 1953, the date of issuance of this third report. Graphs detailing the structural performance of T-2 tankers, Liberty ships and Victory ships are included.
