HOW THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITY WORKS
Many at the receiving end of the ongoing regulatory effort to establish a totally open and "free" internal European market have major concerns about the ramifications, for their particular activities, of the post-1992 era. The European Community has a complex set of policy making bodies that are responsible for the legislation and regulatory measures that can affect these activities. This article gives capsule descriptions of the nature of the legislative measures that can be enacted and of the responsibilities of the policy-making bodies.
