AN ADVANCED MULTI-CARGO REFRIGERATING SYSTEM

An R22 pump refrigeration system developed by Grenco BV for use on reefer vessels is described. Its design obviates the need for various thermostatic or electronic expansion valves and back pressure valves that are normally part of most refrigeration systems. Energy savings of 15 to 20% during fruit transport are claimed. Cooling down time is also reduced.
