HIGH-SPEED CARGO AND PASSENGER CATAMARAN
A third-generation high-speed cargo and passenger catamaran that has been very successfully marketed since late 1985 by Fjellstrand A/S, Omastrand Norway, is described. The vessel was introduced following three years of research and development. Its 38.8m version has a speed potential of 40 knots with up to 450 passengers in aircraft- style seats or up to 45 tons of cargo. Drawings and particulars are shown for the ANNE LINE, a cargo-carrying version of the 38.8m design. The 65 dwt vessel is operated by Gods-Trans A/S along the Norwegian Coast and in open waters of the North Sea, carrying farmed fish one way and fresh vegetables, fruit and flowers on the return.
