VIBRATION ANALYSIS OF A STIFFENED PLATE WITH ATTACHED SUBSYSTEMS BY THE RECEPTANCE METHOD

Ship structures include many combined local structural systems regarded as a rectangular stiffened plate with attached subsystems such as pillars, additional stiffeners, or attachments reducible to damped spring-mass systems. Analytical techniques based on the receptance method are presented for use in the vibration analysis of such local systems, and two schemes for efficient application are described. A support displacement transfer ratio conceptually similar to the receptance is introduced for response calculations of a combined structural system subjected to displacement excitations along the boundaries. The verification of accuracy and efficiency of the methods through numerical and experimental investigations is discussed.
