A NEW PRACTICAL METHOD FOR PREDICTING THE PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS OF PROPELLER BEHIND BODIES OF REVOLUTION

The stream-line curvature (SLC) method commonly employed for flow- field calculations of axisymmetric turbomachines is generalized and applied to predicting the performance characteristics of a propeller behind a body of revolution. The advantage of the approach proposed is that no explicit iteration procedure between calculations of the flow field around the stern of the body and that of propeller performance is required.
