CARGO HANDLING: COST AND COMPLICATION

This short article looks at some of the means that shipowners have at their disposal for reducing their dependence on port labor. It is suggested that the true solution lies in getting a fixed route, capturing a specific cargo, and tailoring the vessel to that need. Otherwise, "it's back to dockers, cost and complication."
