FLAPPED NOZZLES
Features of a new, patented type of nozzle--the so-called flapped nozzle--are described. Tests have shown that the nozzle can significantly improve the propulsive efficiency of several ship types, particularly of single-screw cargo ships and of double-duty ships for which free-running speed is important--for example, trawlers, salvage tugs or hopper dredgers.
