STUDY ON THE MAIN FACTORS AFFECTING ECONOMIC BENEFIT OF PORT PROJECT

The view is presented that the main factors affecting the economic benefit of a port project are the number of berths, the number of handling operating lines per berth, the actual throughput and the time value of money. To illustrate this viewpoint, a project is hypothesized involving the planning and construction of a coal berth with a tonnage level of 35,000 tons, and of some accessory works. The designed annual throughput is 4 million tons. A comprehensive cost analysis of how the four factors named above would affect the economic benefit of the project is presented.
