MACHINERY VIBRATION MONITORING SYSTEMS
The author traces the development of machinery vibration monitoring systems from the introduction of API 670 conforming monitors, through the introduction of microprocessor-based equipment, to the latest developments using advanced digital design and distributed architecture. The impact of digital communication techniques and of their integration into computerized systems is discussed.
