RESULTS OF A STUDY OF THE HEAT EXCHANGER ELEMENTS FOR MARINE DIESEL AIR COOLERS

The increase in the specific power of marine diesels by turbocharging also involves an increase in the temperature of the charging air. This has heightened the demands on air coolers, requiring greater efficiency from their heat exchange surfaces. Comparative experimental studies of seven heat exchanger elements were therefore conducted and are described.
