THE UNITED NATIONS CONVENTION ON A CODE OF CONDUCT FOR LINER CONFERENCES--CURRENT VIEWS ON A REVIEW
The major objectives and provisions of the UNCTAD Code of Conduct for Liner Conferences are briefly recalled. Problems of implementation are then discussed. The author goes on to explain why he thinks that certain provisions of the Code require modification to adapt them to the current situation in liner shipping. A review conference on the Code was scheduled to take place in late 1988 and some of the changes recommended for consideration at that time are discussed.
