REPORT OF COMMITTEE V.3: SERVICE EXPERIENCE--SHIPS

The mandate of Committee V.3 of the ISSC (International Ship and Offshore Structures Congress) is concern with the collection and interpretation of structural data collected from ships in service, including data on operational and accidental loads and responses, buckling, fatigue, fracture, corrosion and strength degradation. In accordance with the mandate, the sections of this 1988 report of the Committee review developments involving operational and accidental problems in service; problems of corrosion and fatigue that cause strength degradation; and prevention of failures.
