USE OF CAD/CAM IN PROPULSOR DESIGN/PRODUCTION AT DAVID TAYLOR
This presentation deals with the development and implementation of a CAD/CAM system for propeller design and production at the Propulsor Technology Branch of the David Taylor Research Center (DTRC) in Bethesda, Maryland. Topics covered include: design needs that must be addressed; advanced CAD/CAM techniques currently in use at DTRC; and future developments for propulsor design and production. According to the author, the expectation is that the CAD/CAM system will allow the quick actualization of a designer's intent and will maximize the extent to which he controls the design/production process.
