THE OPTIMIZATION OF THERMODYNAMIC PROCESS OF TURBO-CHARGED DIESEL ENGINES

Based on the fact that the mathematical simulation of diesel engine processes has agreed fairly well with experimental results, this paper deals with utilizing the optimization process to automatically choose parameters that will optimize the specific fuel consumption of a turbocharged diesel engine. Several optimization methods were compared before obtaining a satisfactory one with speedy convergence and reasonable accuracy. An example is given, using experimental data, to show that the mathematical optimization is possible and applicable.
