STUDY ON CAVITY CHARACTERISTICS AND FLUCTUATING PRESSURE INDUCED BY CAVITATING PROPELLER

Four theoretical methods, namely, lift equivalent, dynamic similarity, and linearized cavity flow theory with both closed and half-opened cavity models are adopted to estimate cavity geometry. Comparison of calculated results with experimental data shows that linearized cavity flow theory with a half-opened cavity model and the dynamic similarity method produce the most satisfactory results.
