THE REPAIR OF MARINE PROPELLERS

Following a brief review of general propeller repair practices, the author offers some guidelines for specific repair problems, such as corrosion damage, cavitation erosion, blade cracks, blade distortion, blade edge damage and boss cracks. Other topics discussed include: blade surface maintenance; appropriate welding techniques; and the relief of internal blade stress during repair operations.
