ROLE OF OIL COMPANY MARINE DEPARTMENTS IN OFFSHORE PRODUCTION

Environmental conditions prevailing in offshore fields are discussed and the types of vessels used to support offshore production are described, including some new designs. The role of an oil company marine department, working with other petroleum-production disciplines to develop offshore fields is also discussed.
