STRIVING TO GAIN SEALS OF APPROVAL

Despite the fact that one of the original intentions in introducing containerization was the prevention of theft, losses from container crime are now estimated to total, ironically, about $50 billion U.S. a year. This article describes how the container industry, in its search for security seals that will be totally effective, is now exploring seals that are based upon electronic and fiber optic technologies.
