GEOTECHNICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL ASPECTS OF MARINE PROJECTS

This paper provides a review of recent developments in geotechnical techniques used in a variety of marine engineering projects, including marinas, wharves, dredging sites, and harbors. Topics discussed include: dredgeability; bund and revetment wall stability; landfilling; and sheet and ordinary piling. Several new design charts for dredgeability are presented and some environmental and maintenance aspects of marine engineering projects are briefly reviewed.
