DOUBLE ROLE FOR NAVAL CONTAINER CARRIER

The SUNLOG container carrier, developed for use by the West German federal navy as an alternative to the replacement of naval auxiliary vessels, is described. In the naval auxiliary mode, the vessel's afterdeck is clear to act as a helipad. In commercial operations as a containership, the vessel can accommodate 317 TEU. It has an overall length of 95.5m and a speed of 9 knots. The 1600 grt freedecker has living space for 13 plus pilot for commercial operations and 18 plus pilot for naval operations.
