ACCELERATED EVALUATION OF MEAN TIME TO FAILURE FOR REHABILITATED COMPONENTS
The increased output and expanded variety of rehabilitated components make it more important than ever to be able to analyze their performance so that manufacturing recommendations can be developed to ensure the required reliability. The length of time that such components have been in use, however, especially in slow speed diesels, has been insufficient to permit efficient evaluation of their actual failure-free performance. Procedures that have been developed to enable the prediction of the mean time to failure for rehabilitated components in slow speed diesels are therefore presented.
