AUTOMATED GRAPHIC TEST FOR RATING SHIPBOARD CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATOR PROFICIENCY

The quality of a system comprised of a human and an electronic complex that includes a computer can be defined as a certain function of the parameters of the complex and the operator. The authors describe an automated graphic test that can be used to evaluate the functional state of an operator working at different levels of complexity or in noise, to diagnose fatigue and prevent an emotionally distressed state, and to evaluate motor cognitive and volitional attributes in professional screenings. The test was based upon the inputting of four random series of 30 numbers into the computer by operators who had never before used the input device.
