SHIPBOARD POWER PLANT AUTOMATION USING MICROELECTRONICS

Plans for the Soviet merchant fleet call for enlarging it with highly automated, high-capacity, economical specialized ships. In line with that plan, this article assesses the feasibility of accomplishing certain new tasks in the area of ship power plant automation. The assessment particularly reflects the potential inherent in the shift from traditional relay and pneumatic components to microelectronic components.
