MICROWAVE DUPLEXER TECHNOLOGY FOR HIGH POWER RADAR

This paper reviews the technology of two types of conventional high-power microwave duplexers, a gas tube and a solid-state type, and proposes a new type of duplexer called the Traveling Wave Resonator (TWR). According to the author, the TWR should ultimately be capable of higher power operation than the solid-state type. The TWR, however, will have a narrower instantaneous bandwidth because it is dependent on the use of resonance and antiresonance phenomena.
