THEORETICAL INVESTIGATION OF THE INFLUENCE OF PROPELLER PITCH AND QUANTITY OF FUEL FED TO ENGINES CYLINDERS ON MANOEUVRING INDICES OF A SHIP WITH A CONTROLLABLE PITCH PROPELLER

This paper reports on the results of a theoretical investigation of the maneuvering qualities of ship propulsion systems with controllable pitch propellers. The motion of the ship's propulsion system is described by a system of differential equations obtained in a dimensionless form. The solution of these equations on a computer and comparison of the results for different values obtained via multivariant calculations, as well as the analysis of the results obtained theoretically and experimentally, show that propeller pitch and quantity of fuel fed to the engines' cylinders strongly influence maneuvering indices.
