MERCHANT SHIP DIGITAL CONNING DISPLAY AND DATA LOGGING SYSTEM: FINAL REPORT ON DEVELOPMENT AND EVALUATION

This is a summary of the development and evaluation of an integrated digital display system and data logger that exhibit many of the parameters of which the conning officer must be aware in order to control a merchant ship. These parameters are: rudder angle, rudder order, engine rpm, heading, speed, bow thruster power and water depth. Evaluation of the digital display/logging system was carried out on board the CV EXPORT FREEDOM.
