TRANSITIONAL CONTAINERSHIP CONCEPT STUDY: SUMMARY REPORT

The primary objective of this study was to develop a ship design featuring a hold module and cargo handling system arranged to facilitate ready changeover from a highly flexible breakbulk operation to efficient all-container stowage via cellular stacking without the need for extensive structural modifications, guide installations, or additional handling equipment. This document presents a summary of the results of a design study to achieve this objective.
