THE FABRICATION OF SPIRAL WOUND PIPES FROM THERMOPLASTICS FOR SHIP MICROCLIMATE SYSTEMS

Experience has demonstrated the feasibility of using plastic pipes in ship ventilation and air conditioning systems. A new technology for fabricating such pipes out of PVC compounds and self-damping polyethylene is described. It is based on a method of spiral winding a thermoplastic blank on a special-sized mandrel.
