INTERNAL ILLNESSES AS A SOURCE OF DANGER IN ROAD TRAFFIC

INTERNE ERKRANKUNGEN ALS GEFAHRENQUELLE IM STRASSENVERKEHR

Internal illnesses become a source of danger for road traffic as soon as they give rise to unnoticed disturbances or lead to sudden death. Statistics which are available do not allow an accurate assessment to be made of the contribution which these illnesses make to road accidents. It can however be assumed that so-called precautionary internal examinations will not bring about any significant reduction in accident rate. This fact does not however absolve the doctor from his duty of advising the patient on any possible impairment of his driving aptitude. /TRRL/
