ON THE BOIL OFF RATE OF LIQUEFIED CARGO OF GAS CARRIER DURING A PARTIALLY LOADED VOYAGE
The boiloff rate of an LNG cargo for a fully loaded carrier is normally 0.1 to 0.25% of total volume per day. A method for calculating the boiloff rate during a partially loaded voyage is not yet established and is the subject of this study. It was found that the rate for a membrane tank was as much as several times greater than that of a spherical tank, especially at very low cargo levels.
