RESEARCH ON A FLAP TYPE WAVE ENERGY CONVERTER
Theoretical and experimental studies were carried out on a flap-type wave energy converter, consisting of a casson with a water chamber open offshore, a flap driven by waves, and a generator system. Results of theoretical calculations and model tests are summarized briefly. The study found that efficiency of wave energy conversion in irregular waves dropped to 60% of that in regular waves.
