A NEW WARSHIP DESIGN STRATEGY--A PERSPECTIVE

The new warship design approach to naval ship design is intended to provide the ability to relate a warship's physical attributes (which will define its cost) to the mission requirements they serve and to use these relationships in the design, development, and construction of more cost- and combat-effective warships. This paper addresses the initial efforts to implement this strategy in conceptual and feasibility design.
