ESTABLISHMENT OF AN EQUATION FOR THE RELATION BETWEEN THE CEMENT/WATER RATIO, THE STANDARD STRENGTH OF CEMENT AND THE CRUSHING STRENGTH OF CONCRETE

ABLEITUNG EINER GLEICHUNG FUER DEN ZUSAMMENHANG ZWISCHEN DEN ZEMENTWASSERVERHAELTNIS, DER NORMFESTIGKEIT DES ZEMENTES UND DER BETONDRUCKFESTIGKEIT

Walz shows the relation between the water/cement ratio, the standard strength of cement (determined according to the German standard - Din 1164, June, 1970) and the crushing strength of concrete by means of a graphical representation. This allows the range of water/cement ratio of 0.5 to 1.0, which is the most important in road construction, to be expressed in terms of equations derived from the relations established by Walz, provided the equations are based on the cement/water ratio as independent variable and not on the water/cement ratio.
