When it comes to hull fabrication, every shipyard works differently, and every job has different requirements. However, there is so much automatic welding equipment on the market at this time, utilizing all the new methods, that the welding supervisor has a wide choice as to the equipment best suited for his needs. The economic question of whether a new type of welding method and apparatus will pay out is the only really important one, and the toughest to answer.
