SHORE BASED AIDS TO MARITIME NAVIGATION: THE EUROPEAN CONCERTED ACTION COST 301 FOR DEVELOPMENT AND RESEARCH
The need for an international action concerning shore-based aids to maritime navigation was recognized at the E.E.C., in 1979. Efforts should be oriented towards the study of: maneuverability of ships in difficult situations; sea traffic flows, their intensity and characteristics; possible aids, surveillance and control techniques.
