LABORATORY EVALUATION AND APPLICATION OF ON STREAM CLEANING IN OPEN RECIRCULATING WATER COOLING SYSTEMS

Considerable attention is being focused on keeping water cooling systems clean as well as free from corrosion. This paper discusses the necessity of cleaning fouled systems on stream to avoid unnecessary and costly shutdowns. Types of foulants and laboratory evaluation of deposit formation and inhibitors are outlined. Several case histories illustrate successful on stream cleaning operations.
