DEVELOPMENT OF B&W KGF ENGINES
The paper deals with the development of a new range of two-stroke, single-acting, turbocharged crosshead engines, the K90GF, K80GF and K67GF. The author first gives a description of the new types which are primarily intended to supersede the corresponding types K84EF, K74EF and K62EF. The design of new types is in many respects based on KFF and KEF engines, and the author therefore describes the results obtained with these engines which have been in service since the middle of 1968. Finally, he gives the background for the introduction of new ratings based on the mean effective pressure.
