EFFECT OF MACHINE RIGIDITY AND LOAD APPLICATION RATE ON THE STRESS-STRAIN BEHAVIOR OF WELDED JOINTS OF HIGH-STRENGTH STEELS

DER EINFLUSS VON MASCHINENSTEIFIGKEIT UND BELASTUNGSGESCHWINDIGKEIT AUF DAS SPANNUNGS - DEHNUNGS VERHALTEN GESCHWEISSTER VERBINDUNGEN HOCHFESTER STAEHLE

An experimental program has been carried out with the aim to determine the effect of the testing machine for static tensile tests and the load application rate on the fracture behavior of welded high-strength steel. In addition to conventional universal hydraulic testing machine with "soft" characteristics, a servohydrualic and a thermally controlled testing machine with "hard" characteristics have been employed for this purpose. The latter machines made it possible to conduct control tensile tests which enabled the deformation behavior to be expressed as a function of the load application rate.
