OKLAHOMA'S FIVE-YEAR TRANSPORTATION PLAN
Oklahoma's campaign to commit 3 billion dollars to highway construction in the next 5 years is described. Oklahoma Department of Transportation and the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority will form a partnership to build a comprehensive network of highways. This could create 65,000 new jobs. The goals of the plan and its details are briefly summarized. The plan will provide a 100-mile loop around the center of the state and major corridors which would better link Oklahoma with the region. Details of the financing of the project are also briefly discussed.
