ON UNIQUENESS IN THE LINEAR THEORY OF ELASTIC SHELLS AND PLATES
A recent paper by the authors contains an approximate linear theory for thermoelastic shells (and plates) which is derived from the three-dimensional equations. Under isothermal conditions, the equations of this theory are of an elastic Cosserat surface. The present paper is mainly concerned with a uniqueness theorem for the solution of the initial mixed boundary-value problem characterized by the equations of the above mentioned theory for thermo-elastic shells.
