ASTM STANDARDS ON SOIL STABILITATION WITH ADMIXTURES. SECOND EDITION

This compilation is sponsored by ASTM Subcommittee D18.15 on Stabilization with Admixtures, a subcommittee within ASTM Committee D-18 on Soil and Rock. It contains specifications for portland cement, quicklime, hydrated lime, and calcium chloride, as well as test methods for determining moisture-density relations, durability, flexural and compressive strength, and cement content for soil-cement mixtures. Test methods are also provided for determining bearing ratio, volume change, and lime content of soil-lime mixtures. Additional test methods, practices, and guides cover classification of soils, laboratory preparation of soil-lime mixtures, preparation of test specimens of asphalt-stabilized soils, liquid limit, plastic limit and plasticity index of soils, screening chemicals for soil stabilization, and preparing and testing soil-cement slurry test cylinders. This compilation is intended as a technical resource for specifiers, consultants, developers, contractors, engineers, designers, soils laboratory personnel, students, and producers of stabilization materials.
