THE LANCASTER/KIEST TRANSIT STATION AREA: MAXIMIZING THE DEVELOPMENT POTENTIAL. DALLAS, TEXAS: TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE SITE VISIT REPORT

Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) is analyzing the economic development opportunities that would be created by the construction of the light rail system, particularly at the station proposed near the intersection of Lancaster Road and Kiest Boulevard. This station could help generate significant economic activity in a distressed neighborhood and quite possibly leverage opportunities for value capture system. This report (1) identifies the development potential around the proposed station; (2) evaluates the preferred alternative alignment to determine its economic development impact and its potential joint development; and (3) identifies what tasks need to accomplish to realize economic growth and joint development in the area.
