STRATEGY FOR LIAISON WITH THE STRATEGIC HIGHWAY RESEARCH PROGRAM. PHASE 1 MONITOR AND REVIEW SHRP RESEARCH OUTCOMES

The Strategic Highway Research Program is a US$150 million five year research effort. It covers four main areas of work: asphalt, concrete structures, highway operations, and long term pavement performance. The Australian Pavement Research Group has set up an SHRP Liaison Committee to ensure that the research findings are effectively disseminated and implemented in Australia. The Committee is developing a two part strategy to do this, and this report summarizes the first stage of the work which involves identifying those SHRP projects which may produce outputs relevant and useful to Australia. A table for each program area shows the key SHRP research activities, the potential benefits to Australia of the expected outputs, the target audience for them and an indication of their relative priority.
