ACCIDENT DATA SYSTEMS- ADS, KENYA - FINLAND ROAD SAFETY PROJECT . COMPENDIUM OF PAPERS. SECOND AFRICAN ROAD SAFETY CONGRESS, ADDIS ABABA, OCTOBER 16-20, 1989. JOINT ECONOMIC COMMISSION FOR AFRICA AND OECD CONGRESS

This article briefly reviews the Kenya-Finland road safety project, which started 10 years ago with a short trial to evaluate the design of the Accident Report form P41. In spite of training the quality of the form completion by the police is still not good, and a permanent body within the Kenya police is required to monitor this quality and give the necessary feedback and training to the officers attending the accidents. Details of the data available from the forms is described briefly, as is the configuration of the microcomputers required to run the system. (TRRL)
