TECHNICAL PROPERTIES AND DURABILITY OF CEMENT MORTARS WITH ADDITON OF ASPHALT EMULSION . PROTECTION OF CONCRETE. PROCEEDINGS OF THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE HELD AT THE UNIVERSITY OF DUNDEE, SEPTEMBER 11-13, 1990

Cement mortars based on quartz sand and four types of cement with admixture of an asphalt emulsion in amount of 1%, 3%, 5%, 7%, 10% and 15% at the rate of mixing water were tested. The influence of emulsion on setting time, water absorbability, compressive strength and corrosion resistance was described. Two solutions: 5% acetic acid and 5000 mg/dm3 sodium sulphate were selected for immersion of mortar spicemens. The prolongation of setting time, decrease in water absorbability, compressive strength and increase of corrosion resistance of mortars with emulsion were found. (Author/TRRL)
