HOE MOBIEL IS EEN BEREIKBAARSHEIDSPROFIEL? EEN METHODISCHE EXERCITIE

The Dutch government has introduced three accessibility profiles where a relation has been given between the planning of activities and the accessibility of locations. These three profiles are only generally defined. Because of that, the actual accessibility can be quite different. In this article the concept of accessibility has been analysed and the necessary choices, the subjectivity and the uncertainties of the profiles are delineated. In the seond part of the article, an alternative method is presented whereby insight can be achieved into the accessibility of a location. The method concentrates on commuting traffic, but is also useful for other goals. The method has been applied in 164 locations in six regions, and has yielded useful and interesting results.
