As for local and regional public transport in the Netherlands, the revenues from the selling of "strips-cards" and seaon tickets fall to transport companies and communities in accordance with distributive codes which have to be determined by district. Surveys belong to the main instruments to fix these distributive codes. The actual situation concerning route networks and transport performances affects the defining of districts and sample sizes. During the surveys, a special strategy is used to prevent gaps in the definitive questionnaire response. (Author/TRRL)
