USE OF THE MADITUC MODEL FOR SERVICE PLANNING AT THE TTC . PROCEEDINGS OF THE 1989 ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF THE ROADS AND TRANSPORTATION ASSOCIATION OF CANADA, CALGARY, ALBERTA, SEPTEMBER 17-21, 1989

The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) is currently involved in a research project to demonstrate the use of the MADITUC modelling system for transit service planning. The MADITUC system (Modele d'Analyse Desagregee des Itineraires de Transport Urbain Collectif) provides an integration of a number of computer based planning tools in three key areas: 1) the manipulation of survey data for transit ridership market analysis, 2) transit network analysis, and 3) the use of a disaggregated assignment procedure to assess passenger benefits resulting from proposed transit network changes. This paper outlines the progress made to date in utilizing these planning tools at TTC and provides an example application of the approach being used. (A) (Author/TRRL )
